It’s the end of what seemed to be the longest, most stressful year of my life yet to date! Despite the fact that we were stuck in a global pandemic, there were quite a few projects that we took on and shared on the blog. So today, I’m reviewing my Top 10 blog posts and sharing the best of Inspired to Revamp from 2020!
I don’t know about you, but I’m so excited to see what the New Year brings. I’m looking forward to lots of new possibilities and I have already planned out my first New Year, New You series! Not only that but our addition is nearing the point where design is taking over and I can start sharing our renovation soon–Eeek!
But for now, I’m just chilling out & taking it easy around the home. We are off for one more week and I’m indulging in sleeping in, watching too much TV, eating up leftover Christmas treats, and recharging for the New Year.

The Best of Inspired to Revamp- Top 10 Posts 2020
I love this time of the year- the time of reflection. It’s a great time to review and reflect on what has happened throughout the past year. Although a year stuck in a global pandemic…there were still lots of projects that were completed and shared on the blog!
Here are my favorite ones from 2020 to catch up on–>

1- DIY Indoor Rock Climbing Wall
- Our playroom One Room Challenge from 2019 had a LOT of people wanting more information about our indoor climbing rock wall. So, I started the year off with a step by step guide on the ins and outs of making a rock wall inside your home!
2-Rustic Farmhouse Shared Boys Bedroom
- Our boys’ bedroom also got an overhaul during the winter months. Their builder’s basic bedroom and bunk bed were just not cool enough for them anymore. They craved more storage and a “big boy” style room that they could grow into together. With built-in cabinets, metal beds, and a barn board feature wall, we were able to successfully achieve a rustic farmhouse design!
3-DIY Board & Batten Entryway Wall
- We completely altered our entryway a few years back when we renovated our entire main floor and moved our staircase to a new location. I kept eyeing our slanted wall in the foyer and picturing how I wanted it to look in the end. Last spring, we were finally able to give this wall the “look” I was envisioning with a DIY Board & Batten wall. If you want a simple update in any room…this is an EASY project to take on!
4-The Intense 20 minute Stair Workout
- This is one of my favorite workouts to do at home. It requires absolutely NO equipment and yet makes you sweat like crazy! All you need is a set of stairs and a timer. Ready to get your heart pumping fast?!?
5-100 Family Activities to do in Quarantine
- In March, the global pandemic shut down our school systems and we were all stuck at home for an unknown length of time. At first, it was for 3 weeks, then another month, and before we knew it…we didn’t go back to school until the start of a new school year! So about a month into quarantine…it was important to be creative and put together a whole bunch of fun family ideas to do while in quarantine together. This provided excitement into our days as we continued to explore all the different activities.
6-DIY Family Monogram Sign
- We dabbled into making wood signs this past spring and created a Welcome sign for our front porch as well as this DIY Family Monogram Sign. We used some leftover barn board we had lying around and made a large square wood sign with it. It’s displayed proudly in our stairwell now!
7-Coastal Modern Pool House Reveal
- During the summer months, we FINALLY finished the interior of our pool house! It’s such a useful space for guests when they come over to swim to put their belongings. There is a bathroom, change room, lots of storage for towels, and even a fridge for some poolside refreshments!
8-Modern Farmhouse Mudroom Reveal
- Our Modern Farmhouse design was continued into our mudroom and provides so much storage for shoes, jackets, hats, and much much more!
9-The Simple & Meaningful Pumpkin Craft
- This Thanksgiving, we completed a craft called the Thankful Pumpkin! Each kiddo received their own pumpkin and a sharpie and was to write all the things they were thankful for in their life. At first, it was easy for them to write in some simple answers like food, house, toys, etc. But as the activity continued, it promoted deeper thinking and great conversation around the table about what they appreciate and are grateful for! This is definitely a new Thanksgiving tradition in our family!
10-The Best Side Hustle for 2020- ZYIA Active
- In August, I signed on to ZYIA Active as an Independent Rep. I’m always looking for new side hustle ideas and this company sure did catch my eye! They are emerging like crazy and sell premium quality activewear comparable to Lululemon. Plus, they are environmentally friendly and super socially responsible as well. Their underlying mission as a company speaks to me as it is all about uplifting others, being active, finding your community, and staying positive & inspired! And the free wardrobe I get from being a rep is a pretty awesome bonus too 🙂
