70+ Kids Summer Bucket Activities

School is wrapping up this week in our home for our 3 kiddos as well as us as teachers.  We love sitting down together as a family and coming up with ways to keep busy & entertained during our summer break.  Due to COVID, things are still not quite open here and so we focused on what we were able to do around our local area.  We calculated that we had 70 days at home as a family this summer.

This year, we asked our kiddos to create their own summer goals and fill in a worksheet that outlined what they wanted to do this summer.  They could start thinking about what they wanted to achieve over the 2 months at home in regards to a reading book list and learning new skills.  As well, it was a great opportunity to think about some fun family activities & places that we wanted to visit.

I love getting my kiddos involved in planning out our summer because it gives them a sense of purpose already at the beginning of the summer and motivates them to achieve their own goals they have set.  Plus, it keeps them from getting into the lazy summer mode for awhile!
