If you’ve been following our renovation this far, you can skip down a bit- you won’t need the back story!
Our reno has started, the new stairs are underway, and yet I can already envision the finish line! It’s now up to me to put together a cohesive style for our home. We’ve already decided on our design theme- Industrial Farmhouse à la Coastal Vibe. Check out that post all about the inspiration for our new home.
How can ALL 3 styles work together?
Let’s pick the overall design theme apart for a moment to see:
- Industrial- Imagine black lighting, black stair railing, and black door knobs, among other industrial accents such as taps, bar stools, etc.
- Farmhouse- This will be the majority of my decoration around the home. This could include wall art, baskets, pillows, furniture, feature walls etc.
- Coastal- I really want my accent color in the home to reflect coastal colors. I plan on adding hints of turquoise, navy, and sea foam here and there in pillows, furniture, paint colors, and some decorations.

What I’m loving about Industrial Farmhouse Lighting Fixtures:
I’m most loving the black metal, clean and simple lines that the industrial farmhouse lighting fixtures offer! And I’m also looking to mix the black frames with glass pendants in our new home. Here’s hoping that this modern farmhouse look with stand the test of time and be a focal point in our home for years to come! I believe that lighting is WELL worth the $$$ when chosen correctly!
Don’t worry, I believe you can get beautiful lighting for decent prices. NOTHING I’ve picked out below is of ridiculous price!!!

- I’m absolutely IN LOVE with the windmill fans or modern farmhouse fans in black. They have such a presence in the room that they almost act as a visual statement. Possibly even an art piece or conversation piece.
- Also, I’ve been a huge fan of hanging glass pendants over the kitchen island. They are just SO PRETTY!!!
- Have a look at number 6 above– this is the exact light that I want to buy for over my dining room table. I wanted something large and powerful. I feel like this light fixture is able to command the attention that it deserves!!!

- Let’s just start talking about the beautiful ORB light in number 5 above. My sister-in-law has a light just like this one above her dining room table and the first time I saw it, I just sat and admired it! It has such a great shape to it!
- The other light fixture that I fell for is the spider chandelier as seen in number 2. It’s just so cool looking, has that industrial vibe and takes up a large space too. I can see this in a fun space like the laundry room, office, or mudroom.
- Also, if you haven’t noticed, the type of light bulb makes a huge difference too. They might be a bit more expensive, but they really do MAKE the light fixture in the end. Buying the Edison Vintage Light Bulbs are the final touch to a beautiful industrial farmhouse light fixture!

- The Lantern Lights- yes please! This is EXACTLY what I want for my front foyer and stairs area. Impact, depth, but yet not very heavy on the eye!
- Metal Industrial Pendant Shades. This is a MUST for achieving the industrial farmhouse style. I would love to incorporate these into my hall wall sconces.
