5 minute office workout

It’s been about 2 months since going back to school and I’m slacking in the exercise department.  I mean, I’m exhausted by the time I get home and some how need the energy to take care of the kids, feed them dinner, do my daily house chores, and…and…and… (yes, the list goes on!)

So…

I started thinking.  Now that I feel a bit more settled into my workload and routine at school, I think it’s time to add in something new.  You know…spice it up a bit.  Something that will help me achieve more energy and continue in my quest to be healthy.  But what?

The answer?

WORKOUT AT WORK!

That’s right.  I need to get off my chair, get moving, and do a workout at work.  I currently don’t have much time afterwards to include a workout at home.  And…well…I love my sleep, so waking up earlier is just NOT even an OPTION! 🙂  I do aim to get lots of steps at work and usually come home with about 5000-6000 steps.

What is the workout?

It’s pretty simple actually.  It’s a 5 MINUTE Office Workout.

Take 5 days a week.  Workout 5 minutes of the day.  Perform 5 exercises in 5 minutes. 

OH…and do as many sets as you can throughout the day (whether at work or at home)!

Why 5 minutes?  Because EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE can afford to give 5 minutes to their health a day!  NO EXCUSES!  And once you get in the habit of giving 5 minutes, it might be easier to give 5 minutes a few times each day….  see how it works!

It’s a low-impact office workout that will work the muscles and get you MOVING at work.  I’ve designed the 5 minute office workout program to be able to be completed in office attire.  And YES, this workout can be done in heels if needed.  It might actually work the leg muscles a bit more too!

There is NO equipment needed, except a stable chair.

ANYONE can do these workouts.  Just try as hard as you can and complete as many reps that you can in the minute.  Try NOT to take any breaks- IT IS ONLY 5 MINUTES AFTER ALL 🙂  Make sure to drink lots of water too!

How it works:

  • Find a private location (unless you don’t mind your co-workers watching of course 😉 )
  • Use a Timer and set it to 5 minutes
  • Put some upbeat music on your speaker!

  • Or when you just need a quick boost of energy!
  • Get a bunch of co-workers together and get moving together!
  • Challenge others to a SET OFF– how many sets can each person do on a daily basis!
