One of my favorite ways to decorate to achieve the farmhouse design style are with signs or quotes. It makes such a statement to choose words that are special in your heart and display them for everyone to experience when in your home.
There are different ways of adding farmhouse signs into your decor. You could add some wall art, home decor for tables or bookcases, or even frame them. They could be a sticker decal, metal, or wood sign too.
Today, I want to share with you how I achieve the Farmhouse design style through my farmhouse decor signs. Enjoy!
My Farmhouse decor Signs:
1. Windmill-
This is a sign that my Opa made. He used to make windmills and sell them as a side business in our local area. He was extremely proud of our Dutch Heritage and shared that with his community.
I display it as a tribute to my late Oma and Opa who were very dear to my heart and had a large influence on who I am today.
It has moved around from room to room, but I am quite happy with the current placement in my dining room!
It fits the farmhouse style with the black and white colors on a wood plank. Very rustic.
Cute right?
2. Rules of the House-
I was able to find a Rules of the House sign that was in our new color scheme (grays, whites and turquoises).
There are many rules in our house, but I think that this one represents the main expectations we have of our family members in the home.
We proudly display it in our mud room and see it everyday as we go in and out of the house.
Some my favorite family rules are:
- Always Tell the Truth
- Use Kind Words
- Be Grateful
- Love Each Other
3. A Farmhouse Tray-
The quote on the farmhouse tray reads “Enjoy the Little Things”. This is so important because the world is a busy place and often times we get so wrapped up in everything that is going on, that we don’t take the time to appreciate the simple things.
Simple things like dancing, or laughing, or cuddle time with the kids.
I put this on my cabinet as a gentle reminder to cherish & “ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS” on a daily basis!
4. Wood Crates with Quote- “Family, Together We Have it All”-
Family is priority #1 in our household and I wanted to display this one prominently beside our fireplace.
First, I found the exact quote sticker decal that I was looking for in the right size & color. Then, I found some wood crates and purchased them at Home Sense. The final step was to simply cut and apply the sticker decal in the desired location on the crates.
A simple DIY Project, but I’ve been pleased with it for years now!
5. Letter Marquee-
6. Letter board Sign-
This is my most recent purchase! I enjoy the option of switching out our quotes throughout the weeks and giving my kids the ability to choose what they want to write on the letter board too! It’s fun & engaging–Here’s what our sign reads this week (courtesy of my 8 year old son!)

Final Thoughts:
Farmhouse decor signs are a great way to add some visual interest into your home’s style. It can add a conversation piece for guests when visiting your house and it provides daily reminders of your family values and beliefs.
There are many other signs that I would love to incorporate into my home too, but there is a fine line of having too many signs in the design! So…the best option is to continuously switch out your farmhouse decor signs to keep the decor style fresh, inviting, and farmhouse-ish of course 🙂
Here are some other Farmhouse Decor Signs that I would love to have in my Home:
- Be humble and kind
- If God brings you to it, he will guide you through it (my motto in life!)
- Our Family, est. 2007
- Welcome sign
- Gather and Give Thanks
I hope you enjoyed my Farmhouse Decor Signs!
